1st Libertarian Convention of Allen County
1730        People began showing up, ordered drinks, socialized
1800        People began ordering dinner
1900        Jeannette began rhyming game
1930        Begin meeting.  Mike gave thanks to everyone for showing up and
their work.  Sam Goldstein, Brad Klopfenstein, and Mark Rutherford
discussed briefly what we were doing.
1940        Took a quick hand count of who is a member and signed folks up.
1943        Mike Sylvester is nominated and elected Chairperson of Allen
County.
1946        Mike discusses changes to Bylaws and responsibilities of officers.
1949        Jeanette Jaquish is nominated and elected Vice Chairperson.
1950        Doug Horner is nominated and elected Secretary.
1951        Erin Rollins is nominated and elected Treasurer.
1952        Sam mentions we need a CFA-3 form.
1956        We vote and change the official mailing address of the LPAC to the
“Current Treasurer’s Address”.
2000        Clarify verbally that the definition of custodian (regarding LPAC
assets) as being responsible for property and funds.
2001        Vote and change the word “funds” to “assets” in Article V, Section
III, Paragraph D.
2003        Andrew Barret gets credit for creating website.
2005        Discuss candidate recruitment.  Brad Klopfenstein adds comments
on importance of this.  Rose Sallfrank volunteers to head this.
2007        Sam Goldstein discusses this and ballot access.
2011        Mike discusses college student who got elected on extremely tight
budget and unseated an 18 year incumbent.
2013        Jeanette discusses building things for LPAC such as booths,
posters, etc.  She also discusses idea of getting a giant Statue of Liberty into
the Three Rivers Parade.  It is also mentioned to pursue the local Hispanic
Vote.

      The idea is mentioned to draw in lone individuals from surrounding
counties to give them support.

      Jeanette discusses idea of having a protest at the main Post Office when
tax time comes.
2019        Discuss doing local fairs.
2020        All are invited to Henrys for drinks after the meeting.
2024        Discuss Libertarian ideals.
2025        Discuss idea of having our meetings in public or private.  The idea
to alternate is agreed to for now.  The next meeting is set for January 10th,
2005 at Mike Sylvester’s house.
2026        Mike also says he will just pay for the $50 entrance fee to the next
Gun Show at the Coliseum and then pass the hat at the next Libertarian
meeting to be reimbursed.
2027        Sam Goldstein discusses the 1994 Society.
2029        Brad Klopfenstein talks about Indiana being #1 for Badnarek and
#1 for candidates.  We are making a difference in Indiana.  He wants 192
candidates on 2006 ballot.
2031        Justin informs us we have signed up eight (8) new members tonight.
2032        Michael House talks about his putting in $50 per month into the
1994 Society.
2034        Mark Rutherford discusses importance of donating to 1994
Society.  The Libertarian Party of Indiana has two (2) full time employees and
we need to afford them.
2037        Justin asks for new memberships to the 1994 Society.
2039        Mike Sylvester thanks everyone for their attendance and
participation this evening.
2040        Mike Kole talks about his move from Ohio to Indiana.  He can run
for office in Indiana.  He pledges his support to Allen County.  He will run for
Secretary of State on the issue of Gerrymandering.  He explain what happens
if he comes in 2nd place in Allen County; that all of the appointed committees
will have the minority go to Libertarians instead of Democrats.
2050        Justin collects money.
2051        Mike informs us that he will be on WOWO tomorrow morning with
Charlie Butcher.  He encourages everyone to write letters to the editor.  He
explains that most letters need to be 200 – 300 words long; 400 – 600 words
long for a guest column.
2055        The meeting is closed.
